About…
ITEC has been established in Basildon since 1984, providing a wide range of training programmes and courses to people of all ages.
In 2001 we established our commercial department, changed our name from Basildon ITEC to ITEC Learning Technologies and re-branded ourselves with new logos and signage. We introduced new courses including vendor qualifications, and updated many of our training rooms to improve our facilities for our clients.
In the 25+ years that ITEC has been delivering training, our youth programmes have been some of our most successful, and to this day we still continue to attract 100’s of applications to join our Apprenticeship programmes each year.
We are one of the leading IT Training Providers in Essex and one of the few able to offer a full range of Technical IT Apprenticeships.
In 2002 we introduced our Alternative Education programme. This enabled us to offer training to 14-16 year old students that were no longer in mainstream education or wanted a vocational programme to run alongside their education; these programmes have gone from strength to strength, with many transferring on to an Apprenticeship programme on leaving school.
In 2003 we introduced the City and Guilds Diploma qualifications for the IT Practitioner (Systems Support). This diploma course enabled us to offer IT workshop training to potential apprentices prior to their work placements.
In 2004 we became part of the NOVA partnership, a consortium of local Training Providers and Colleges, working together to provide a diverse and exciting range of Apprenticeships and training opportunities for young people.
In 2006 we launched our Apprenticeship+ programme, combining a Level 3 IT Apprenticeship with vendor qualifications. This has proven to be a massive hit with employers and apprentices alike.
In 2008 we launched the 'ITEC Awards' to recognise and celebrate the achievements and successes of our learners and employers.
We worked in close partnership with Essex County Council during 2010/11, to deliver IT apprenticeships to SME's across Essex. This project enabled ITEC to spread it's wings across the county and engage with even more young people and businesses.
2011 saw us launch the Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is based around server technologies and gives the apprentice the opportunity to work for a Microsoft Partner organisation.
2012 is already shaping up to be an exciting year. From February onwards we will be proudly sponsoring Pitsea and Bowers Gifford FC.
