ITEC Apprenticeship programmes are designed to give young people the perfect start to working life.
An apprenticeship is a way of gaining hands on experience in a real working environment and gaining nationally recognised qualifications at the same time.
It is generally made up of a Vocational Diploma Key Skills and in some cases a technical certificate.
What is a Vocational Diploma?
A Vocational Diploma is gained by building an e-portfolio of evidence based around your job role and the training you are undertaking.
You will be assessed in the workplace and in the training centre by a qualified assessor.
What are Key Skills?
This qualification is built into your chosen qualification and is included in your e-portfolio.
You will undertake Application of Number, Communication and Information Technology.
An exam is required for each of the Key skills, however you may be exempt if you achieve C’s or above in Maths, English and I.T. at GCSE level.
What is a Technical Certificate?
The technical certificate provides underpinning knowledge for the sector you are working in and is achieved by a series of paper based assignments and a written test.

All learners on all Apprenticeship programmes may be required to attend ITEC at some point for workshop training, exams or to carry out portfolio work.
If you choose an I.T. Practitioner Apprenticeship, you may undertake a programme prior to starting your apprenticeship.
