Our Training Team

Who are our Training Team?



Malcolm Bridges, Chief Executive, MCIPD, DMS

Malcolm has been Manager of the ITEC since its conception in 1983 and has led the ITEC team through the many changes of the 1980’s and the 1990’s and on into the new millennium. Malcolm’s background is electronic engineering, personnel and training with large corporations, STC and ITT.

Wendy Vickers, General Manager, MCIPD, MIVA

Wendy has also been with the ITEC since it opened, originally as a trainer and progressing into management. Responsible for the quality systems and procedures, Wendy has been involved with NVQ assessment since it was first introduced. She supports the team of assessors with the implementation of the standards and is senior verifier within the team. Wendy holds the NVQ 4 in Management and D32, D33 and D34 assessor/verifier awards.

Kirk Redhead, Business Development Manager

Kirk joined the team in January 2001 and has responsibility for securing commercial business for the ITEC. He has many years’ experience with advising clients on their IT training requirements and joins us from a large commercial training organisation.
He has set up the our Microsoft Academy, Cisco and CompTIA centres and has restructured the courses in our Flexible Learning Centre

Amanda Rawlings, Career & Training Co-ordinator

Amanda joined the ITEC in May 2001 and has a background in recruitment and training. She has experience with both Health & Safety and Health & Hygiene issues, holds accredited training certificates and the IOSH safety qualification. Amanda is responsible for the recruitment, placement and reviewing progress of candidates. She is also responsible for securing work experience placements and monitoring their H&S arrangements.

Pauline Prior, Career & Training Adviser (part-time)

Pauline joined the ITEC in April 2000 and assists Amanda with the recruitment, selection and support of the WBL candidates. She is responsible for reviewing the progress of learners in the workplace and providing support for both learners and employers. Pauline also get involved with producing the ITEC newsletter and assists with promotional events and activities. Pauline runs after-school maths classes.

Tara Freeth, Admin Supervisor

Tara has been with the ITEC since leaving school in 1990 when she joined our training programme. She quickly impressed and was brought in to support our administration systems. Tara heads up the admin team and is responsible for completing all the trainees’ records and claims. Tara has achieved the NVQ 3 in Administration

Heidi Auger, NVQ Assessor (part-time)

Heidi has been working with us since 1999 and assesses the Administration, Customer Service and key skills NVQ’s in the workplace. Her background is retail and customer service for companies including Debenhams and Nat West. Heidi holds the full NVQ 3 in Training and Development and the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) as well as the D32, D33 and D34 assessment and verification qualifications

Richard Wallace, Technical Trainer/Assessor

Richard joined the ITEC in October 2000 and, as a qualified Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), provides technical I.T. training, looks after our equipment acquisition, plans and implements our network and assesses candidates in the workplace for the I.T. NVQ’s. Richard also holds the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), the A+ Trainers Certificate, the MCP+I and the D32/D33 assessor’s qualifications. He has achieved the Edexcel level 4 Professional Development Certificate in Networking.

Clive Kirkpatrick, Assessor/Trainer

Clive joined the ITEC in September 2001. He worked for GEC/Marconi for 26 years in the I.T. department as a Systems Programmer and is experienced with mainframes and technical support. Clive runs training courses within the centre and also assesses candidates in the workplace for their I.T. NVQ’s. He holds the MCSE, ECDL, the A+ and Network+ qualifications and the D32/D33 assessors award.

Rosemarie Woodcock, Assessor/Trainer (part-time)

Rose joined the ITEC in November 2001. She worked for Greensward College for 8 years as a network support technician and has trained the teachers to use various software packages. Rose has a training background and has worked for local colleges and training providers as a word processing tutor. She holds many I.T. awards as well as the RSA Teachers Certificate for word processing and I.T. and also holds the D32 and D33 assessor qualifications. Rose also holds the ECDL qualification and the NVQ 3 in Training and Development.

John Fox, Learning Co-ordinator

John joined the ITEC in January 2003 and is responsible for supporting learners on our flexible e-learning programmes and assisting them with their courses. John worked for the Ford Motor Company for 35 years as a Technical Quality Control Supervisor and holds both the ECDL and MCSA qualifications

Scott McAvoy, Assessor/Trainer

Scott joined the ITEC in March 2005. He previously worked for International Financial Data Services as a support technican. Scott has a training background and has worked for training providers delivering ECDL, Start IT, CLAIT and CLAIT Plus courses. He holds the MCP, CCNA, ECDL and CLAIT Plus qualifications.

Andrew Flett, Freelance NVQ Assessor

Andrew joined the ITEC in September 2000 and is responsible for assessing the NVQ’s in Servicing Electronic Systems and Installing and Supporting I.T. Systems. He has worked for Xerox for many years and holds the D32 and D33 assessor qualifications.

Terry Cox, Site Supervisor

Terry joined the ITEC in 1999 and is responsible for all site maintenance, cleaning and repairs to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Sam Wootten, Receptionist/Administrator

Sam joined the ITEC in July 2005 and is currently undertaking an apprenticeship in Business Administration. He is responsible for operating the switchboard, transferring incoming calls, taking messages, etc., and for helping to run our reception area, greeting visitors, signing learners in and generally helping out in all administrative roles.

Kevin Hallewell, Assessor/Trainer

Kevin joined the ITEC in August 2007. He has been presenting IT training courses since 1995 and before that worked as workshop technician for 10 years. Kevin has worked for training providers delivering ECDL, MCSE, A+, Network+ and CCNA courses. He holds the MCSE, CCNA, ECDL, A+ and Network+ qualifications.

Kerry Prigg, Assessor/Trainer

Kerry joined the ITEC in September 2007. Starting her career in London in banking and legal services, she moved into IT during 1996, providing network support for a large national media provider. Kerry holds the BTEC awards in Data Transmission, Computer Networks and Telephony Systems & Networks and the ITIL Foundation, Configuration Management Practitioners and the Change Management Practitioners certificates.
