Adam Germon is so grateful to ITEC for the start it gave him in life – that he has never left.
He is probably unique within UK training organisations in that he has gone from an Apprenticeship with ITEC to a Directorship there. Over 16 years ITEC’s prowess as an IT training provider and Adam’s appetite for hard work have proved a winning combination.
Adam, 32, emerged from his ITEC-guided Apprenticeship with nine City & Guilds and two NVQ qualifications and a successful career in IT. He is currently technical manager with top IT consultancy FOS.net based at Romford in Essex.
Even after leaving ITEC Adam, who lives in Basildon with his wife and young son, remained in touch with his instructors and ITEC’s administrators. Adam said: “I never really left ITEC. After achieving my qualifications I remained in touch and have continued a good relationship there.
“I was very pleased to be invited to become a Director because I owe ITEC so much. I am working in an advisory role but I feel I have the experience to put something back.”
Adam left school in the Stifford Clays area of Essex in 1992 with GCSEs in English, mathematics and science – ideal groundings for an IT career. He cut his technological teeth as a schoolboy on the early PCs – the Acorn and BBC computers. Adam said: “I was absolutely fascinated with computers and IT from the start.”
With ITEC he covered the whole gamut of IT training including programming, networks, project management plus support and installation.
He achieved his final qualification in 2000 and has worked since in IT across a number of industries including automotive.
Adam said: “I think going from trainee status to Director must be unusual but I feel I have a role to play and I hope to be an asset to ITEC.” |

Tracy came ITEC in January 2007 with a background in helping friends and neighbours with their computer problems. Realising that there was lots of potential she decided to embark of the CompTIA A+ programme so that she could fill here skills gaps. She now is a fully qualified CompTIA PC technician and is in the process of starting her own business. This will enable her to look after her family as well as fullfilling her IT ambitions.
Tracy has gone on to study for MCDST and we are sure she will soon add that qualification to her list

Having taken part in the MCDST training course, I would recommend it to anyone looking to further their career in IT. The course delivers a strong understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office environments and goes into a high level of detail.
I would definitely return to ITEC for any Microsoft Certification. The course was well planned and organised, but allowed enough flexibility to respond to the needs of the group. All support staff were friendly and available offering plenty of advice.

ITEC has helped me to complete my CompTIA A+ certification earlier this year and now Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. I feel I am now well on the way to a career in IT. I would like to thank everyone at ITEC for their encouragement and support
