Apprenticeship Routes

Route 1 - Non Employed

You could start an Apprenticeship as a non-employed learner on a training allowance after finishing school or college. You would apply to us by sending in a completed application form and would then be invited in to sit an aptitude test; all attendees are then invited back for an interview with a member of our Career and Training Team.
If you are successful we would then help you look for a suitable work placement in which you could start your apprenticeship, in the case of IT you may come to the ITEC before placement to undertake a City and Guilds I.T. Practitioner course.
You will be assigned an Assessor who will visit you in the work place approximately every 2 weeks; they will set you work to complete for their next visit. Sometimes you may be required to attend ITEC for workshops that are applicable to your Apprenticeship. You will also have regular review meetings to monitor your progress both at work and with your apprenticeship.
If you are taking route 1 you will start on a level 2 Apprenticeship.
This programme should last around 12 months.

Route 2 – Employed

You are already working but want to gain qualifications that are relevant to the job you are doing. To apply you would contact a member of the Career and Training Team at ITEC who will make an appointment to come along and see you at work. You would be interviewed at this point and if successful signed up for a suitable Apprenticeship.
