IT Girls

IT Girls

Welcome to our IT Girls page.

In 2005 ITEC launched its IT Girls campaign. Its aim was to promote careers in IT to young women across the county.
When thinking about career choices, young women rarely consider IT as an option.

IT is a fast paced and exciting industry with endless opportunities available.

We are working hard to encourage and attract more women into this male dominated industry, and turning everything pink is just the first step!

IT offers a diverse range of careers including:

Web Developer Software Programmer

Network Engineer

IT Technician Systems Architect

Helpdesk Support

IT Tutor or Assessor

IT Manager

Did you know?

Many careers once established can offer flexible and part time working hours and the option to go it alone and have your own business if you wanted to.

A median salary for a PA is £23,939 whereas a median salary for a software developer is £38,965

Women make up just 21% of the IT sector
